Darkroom Project - Part 2
Everything has taken off in the last week or so. This week the first two images show the wooden battens in place and the floating floor that has been installed over the concrete. First the concrete floor was lined with a damp proof layer and the the floor structure built and the space in-between filled with insulation. Finally the flooring was laid and sealed to waterproof it.The next three images show the plasterboard and insulation boards installed to give a smooth finish ready for the plastering. We only needed to insulate/plasterboard the red brick walls as they are single brick, whereas the grey block wall under the window is double skinned and insulated. The long wall on the other side is our bedroom wall.
The last four images show the great job the plasterer did and you can see the holes for sockets, power supply and extractor fan. The other sockets on the desk side will be run in trunking.
Next week things start to come together and the room takes shape with fittings and fixtures.
